This edition
After two editions, Mujeres en CreAcción continues its journey. This year we meet in Moraira to open up new territory to explore.
Three languages that come together to awaken our creativity and discover new ways of feeling, expressing and creating.
We are all creative. And the body holds things that words sometimes can't tell.
The lab
Mujeres en CreAcción is a living space of inquiry and creation, where the body is a temple: living territory, vehicle, map and memory.
Over one weekend and 12 hours of lab time, we will enter a creative process through creative movement, dance theatre, physical theatre, body poetry, improvisation and performance.
A space to play, to improvise, to connect with impulse, instinct and spontaneity.
To listen. To let ourselves be surprised.
Nature
Observe. Feel. Listen. Touch. Breathe. Move. Transform.
Moraira, in the province of Alicante: its landscape, its light, the earth, the sea, the wind, the textures, sounds, rhythms and elements around us will all be part of our field of exploration.
Nature is origin and home: medicine, rhythm and cycle. It is not only about being in it. It is about entering into relationship with it through the body.
What happens when we let the landscape enter our body? What movement does a stone awaken, or a branch, a shadow, the sound of the sea, the wind on the skin? What images appear? What stories? What does our body want to tell when it feels part of the landscape?
Nature can become image, metaphor, texture, rhythm, object, space and stimulus for creation.
We don't start from a fixed theme. We begin with a blank canvas: an open space where each woman brings her own experience, her inner imagery, her sensitivity and her particular way of inhabiting the body.
Through the exercises we will gradually fill that canvas with movements, gestures, words, images, sounds, objects, emotions and actions.
We will use different tools to listen to what is alive and asking to be told, expressed or transformed on stage.
Because to create is not to produce forms, but to listen to what longs to be revealed. Sometimes it means allowing ourselves to hear what is pulsing in the body, in the space, in nature and in the group, and giving it a form so it can reveal itself.
During the lab we will approach the symbolic value of the artistic act: art as a ritual act where the inner and the universal find matter, gesture and presence.
Through movement, objects, images, gestures and small actions charged with intention, we can give form to what we feel, bring questions, desires or experiences onto the stage and look at them from a different perspective.
Art opens a dialogue with mystery and offers us a language that goes beyond words. It allows us to make visible, to express, to give new meaning and to open up new ways of seeing ourselves and what surrounds us.
We are not looking for definitive answers. We create a space to experiment, to listen to what appears and to let the process transform us in its own way: with new perspectives, sensations and ways of relating to our own experience.
Over the course of the lab we will explore
We will play with the body to feel, explore, transform and create.
Each woman will arrive with her own body, her own story and her own way of feeling. From there we will build a space of listening and connection.
We will move from the individual to the collective, discovering what happens when our experiences, movements and inner worlds begin to meet.
We will gather whatever appears along the way and compose a living, collective poem.
A creation that will not be designed beforehand, but will be born from what happens between us, our bodies and our surroundings.
The creative process will culminate in the possibility of shaping a final collective piece: a performance lived as a ritual act of transformation, born from the lab itself.
It is not about reaching a perfect result, or building a finished work from the start.
It is about moving through a process of discovery and creation together, and giving body to whatever has appeared along the way.
We are looking for presence, authenticity, play and listening.
Who it is for
Come as you are.
This lab is open to women of all ages, with or without previous experience in dance, theatre, physical expression or the performing arts.
You don't need to know how to dance. You don't need to act. You don't need experience. You only need to come with curiosity and a willingness to explore.
With what your body brings. With your story. With your questions. With your imagination. With whatever you don't yet know you want to express.
You will find a space of care, listening and support where you can step away from the everyday and connect with yourself, your body, your intuition, nature and your capacity to create.
A space for you
An invitation to return to the body and remember that creativity is not something we have to learn: it is something we can awaken.
Art lets us look from other places, express what sometimes has no words and open up possibilities for transformation. And nature reminds us that we too are movement, change, cycle, matter and life.
The body feels.
Movement reveals.
Nature inspires.
Art transforms.
